We are currently in the process of transitioning to an in-house catering service. From 1st June to 17th July all pupils will be required to bring a packed lunch. We look forward to opening our new School kitchen in September 2026!
The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) give you information about the hygiene standards in the school. The scheme is run by the local authority in partnership with the Food Standards Agency. Our school is given a ‘hygiene rating’ when it is inspected by a food safety officer from the local authority. The hygiene rating shows how closely the school is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.
Each inspection checks the following criteria:
- how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
- the condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities
- how the school manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe

If you are out of work for even a short period of time you may be eligible for free school meals. You would also then qualify for other help such as with a uniform grant. Taking up this entitlement benefits your child in other ways too. For seven years following the period they receive free school meals your child’s school receives an additional package of money to help and stretch your child according to their needs. Due to some pupils in our school have allergies to nuts, we are now a Nut Free School. Please see the poster below for how to support ALL of our pupils to be safe and included in school.
