We have our school lunches prepared offsite and they are delivered to us fresh every day from Bransty School. This is arranged through Orian , and payment for the lunches is also made through their Lunshshop site , for which you will be given an access code. You are able to order meals up to two weeks in advance, and you can make amendments on the day up to 9.30 am , which is the cut off time. If you forget to order your meal you will be contacted and requested to bring up a packed lunch for your child, and this may not come to light until the lunch break begins, which will result in your child having to wait for their meal.
At present, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided free meals paid for by the government. We encourage all infant children to partake of the free school meals arrangement. You can purchase a school meal for £2.85 per meal. If your child is a junior and not entitled to free school meals, they have the option to choose dinners from the menu on the days that they like, and bring a packed lunch on the other days. As long as their choice is ordered or changed by 9.30am on the day , they have the flexibility to choose.
The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) give you information about the hygiene standards in the school. The scheme is run by the local authority in partnership with the Food Standards Agency. Our school is given a ‘hygiene rating’ when it is inspected by a food safety officer from the local authority. The hygiene rating shows how closely the school is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.
Each inspection checks the following criteria:
- how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
- the condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities
- how the school manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe
Here is our latest food standards agency inspection rating:
